Getting Targeted Website Traffic

I’m sure you know how hard it is to drive targeted traffic to your website or blog. Accumulating targeted website traffic can be difficult, especially if you are not some sort of SEO guru. Now I’m no SEO guru and I just started blogging in June 2008. So, why am I telling you this? Because I’m going to show you how I generated over 7000 visits and 15,000 page views to my blog within 30 days. I did this with no pay per click advertising, no back links, and no initial traffic to my blog.

Here’s how I did it. I’m sure most of you know of the Digital Point Forums. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s basically a webmaster forum. This forum has a lot of information, especially for new webmasters. You can also buy and sell websites, along with purchasing various types of content. It’s a pretty neat site.

Now, within this forum there is a contest section. This section usually has contests for the best logos, banners, and website templates. For example: Webmasters will post a $25 contest for the best logo that fits their website. Then freelance web designers will enter the contest and show their work in hopes to win the $25.

Now while I was browsing the section, an idea popped into mind. I had the idea to throw a blog comment contest. I figured this would increase my targeted website traffic because my blog mainly deals with webmasters and niche marketing ideas. So, I hosted a $25 blog comment contest.

The contest went like this. The webmaster or contestant would state they were in the contest, they would have to comment on a specific topic on my blog, and then at the end of the contest I would write down all the names and video record the drawing of the winner. This way, the contestants can see the video on Youtube and verify the winner.

This was a very simple contest to run. You can see the actual contest here;

Feel free to use that as a template for your contest.

Now some of you might be thinking “my website/blog is in a different niche.” If your website or blog is in a different niche, just find a forum related to your niche. You can Google search your niche with the keyword “forum” at the end. That’s the easiest way to find a forum related to your niche.

Well I hope this helps you to drive more target website traffic to your blog. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

    You can always use traffic boosters. They are software with limited(alexa booster) or no installation(increasesiterating) both relay on increasing the numbers of the total page visits and unique page views
