I was recently browsing the blog sphere for different ways to increase my Alexa website ranking. I came
across a blogger (Duckel Danny) who showed some different but legit ways to increase your website or blog’s Alexa ranking. So, after reading his post, I went ahead, took action, and applied his strategies to my blog. All that I can say is that his advice has paid off. As of November 9th my Alexa ranking is #86, 715 and my blog is only about 3 months old at the date of this post. I just wanted to say thanks again Danny for sharing this with the rest of us.
In his post he stated the need and importance for gathering alexa users from around the world. It is very important to get visitors from other countries to increase our Alexa ranking. So how do you get visitors from around the world? Easy, you join social blog networks and directories like BlogCatalog or Social Spark.
BlogCatalog
One great resource for finding Alexa users from around the world is Blog Catalog. Locating bloggers from other countries is easy. First, Sign up for an account on blog catalog. Once logged in, visit the directory and start browsing blogs by country. Try to request as many blogroll/ link exchanged with various bloggers from other countries. Another way to drive traffic from these blogs is to ask them if you could do a guest post on their blog. This will most likely result in a increase in foreign traffic to your blog, thus increasing your alexa rank. Make sure that your post is relevant content to their blog and not just yours.
I used this technique and it did increase my blog’s Alexa rank significantly. My blog has been active for about 3 months when this post was written and now has an Alexa rank under 89K. That shows the power of this technique.
I’m sure there are plenty more social blog networks out there to help you find more foreign Alexa users. Just wash, rinse, and repeat the process.
What other methods are you aware of to help increase your alexa ranking?

good advice. i am also a blog catalog member. it’s a great group.
Thanks for this info on Blogcatalog – I literally joined yesterday for my blog and wasn’t sure how I was going to use it!
Hi, thanks for writing about my article. Now my alexa rank is not very good, because I have no time in the last months. I have learned that its important to be active with social networks like adding friends or trading links too.
Thanks for the tips, my alexa rank is really low.
In the face of the tough competiton, Alexa is coming up with more and more user friendly and unique features. Ability to create own search enginem by giving access to the crawler is quite a novel feature in itself.
This is a great post, fortunately 70% of the time of website owner is consumed in experimenting towards increasing page rank and alexa rank. To start with increasing page rank one must start with downloading Alexa toolbar for IE or firefox on as many system possible. as a second step alexa widget on every page of your website, by this way every webpage opened is counted while calculating rank inspite is user does not have alexa toolbar installed knowtheworldaround.com
i have tried very much to improve my ranking but not yet succeeded in it.
The factors that are determinant in a website’s Alexa rankings apart from the data collected from the users of the Alexa toolbar are no where clearly mentioned. This somehow brings in a question of doubt and credibility issues as far as the Alexa rankings are concerned. However, even today the Alexa toolbar has the largest chunk in determining the ranking of a website.
I believe that there is only 1 factor to contribute to higher Alexa rank, by having good contents with SEO, then all these efforts will bring results. Let’s grow together. Cheers!
I have joined the blog now so i will see how it helps with my rankings
thanks for the tips sir.
Great idea, thanks for sharing.
Peace,
Bob
My Alexa ranking improved by 3300% over the last 3 months.
The secret is to: first install the Alexa widget on your site. Then Install the firefox searchstatus plugin. Third Change your home page to be that of your site. Next offer a freebie on your site and advertise it on various internet groups.
i have started work according to your advice lets see what happens.
Thanks for sharing the great tip. I’m going to apply it to my own site and see if things improve. I really appreciate the help.
