New Niche Market Idea- Handheld GPS

I was looking through my old Army footlocker and found my hand held gps. I bought it right before I deployed to Iraq. I’ve got to tell you. For a commercial device, it worked wonders.

Hand held GPS devices are gaining popularity. Many people are starting to get into geocaching . Geocaching is basically like a treasure hunt. You plot way points into your gps then try and locate a box that contains an item the person before had left. You then replace the item with something, keeping the item before. For more information about Geocaching visit here.

Again there are many ways to profit from this niche market. You could create a blog around Geocaching and promote GPS systems. You could also create and informative adsense site or create a build a niche store on gps systems.

Now for the cake. Keywords are in no particular order, make sure you view them carefully.

Keywords:

“garmin gpsmap 60csx handheld gps”

  • 33,100 searches per month
  • 19,200 competing websites
  • PPC $0.05

“etrex handheld gps”

  • 18,100 searches per month
  • 31,400 competing websites

“garmin etrex handheld gps”

  • PPC $0.05

“explorist 210 handheld gps”

You could find most of these items on ebay. I’ve searched ebay and found lots of sold completed listings , making this a profitable niche market. Check out the screen shot below.

    Hi there,

I didn’t know the GPS market is this interesting! I could make use of the info you gave me by putting up my BAN site, which allows me to (re)sell products from ebay. I’ve give it a try some day. Thanks for the info!

    Greets,

Geocachin looks really fun. Maybe when I go on my Round The World journey (read my blog if you’re really interested!) I can plant a bunch of hidden items for people to find…should be fun!

    I heard about geocaching!
It sounds very awesome to me. As for the GPS systems, I didn’t think they would get so popular, because most of the normal GPS systems also work outside a car (But you only have 1 hour of battery or so xD)

    Thanks for the keywords!

I’m already in this niche and have found it a hard one to make much cash in atleast with adsense (obvious from the $.05 PPC). I never thought about doing the eBay thing though. Thanks for the info.

PS. I’m giving away a Garmin GPS on my web site http://www.backcountrysecrets.com
