This is exactly what I am doing right now for Thanksgiving and will be doing for Christmas. Just trying to make sure I have a good source of content for the Christmas micro-niches I am interested in.

True, it would be a waste if you have to pay for the hosting for the dormant site. But if your other websites are hosted on the same server and it doesn’t cost any extra, you wouldn’t have anything to lose.

Interesting read.

I like the idea of only having to worry about the site a few months a year, but I also don’t like having a Christmas site sitting around doing nothing the rest of the year. Kind of seems like a waste, unless you hit the jackpot around christmas.

Awesome article.

I agree, you need to find more specific niche markets and target the long tail keywords within them.

Like “yoga mats” a niche or long tail would be “yoga mat reviews”. These are good examples of what your post is talking about.
